Thirty years after the publication of the first comprehensive work on the history of lesbian women in German speaking countries from 1870 to 1938, author Hanna Hacker re-presents her work as a critical revised edition within the series “challenge GENDER” (Gender Research Office) published by Zaglossus 2015.

Hanna Hacker, born in Vienna, is a sociologist and historian with a focus in cultural and postcolonial studies with a feminist and queer perspective. She has researched and published on the history of women's movement, sexuality and gender, critical whiteness studies and critical development studies.
