Scholarships available for MA, PhD programs in gender studies in English by CEU Department of Gender Studies (2019/20)

Despite the fact that CEU's US-accredited programs have been forced out of Hungary and that Gender Studies programs have lost their Hungarian accreditation, please note that all programs of CEU's Department of Gender Studies will continue in 2019-20 and beyond under their US accreditation. In 2019-20, CEU will operate as a multi-campus university with new students enrolling in Vienna in close cooperation with the Budapest campus.

The Department of Gender Studies invites applications to the following programs in 2019/20:

  • One-year MA in Gender Studies
  • Two-year MA in Critical Gender Studies
  • MATILDA MA in Women's and Gender History
  • GEMMA MA in Women's and Gender Studies
  • PhD in Comparative Gender Studies

Application deadlines

January 31, 2019 (23:59, Central European Time)

Deadline for applicants to Master’s programs who wish to be considered for CEU financial aid (if applicable). Scholarship application deadline for doctoral programs. All applications must be complete with relevant standard test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, etc.).

May 1, 2019 (23:59, Central European Time)

Application deadline for self-financing applicants who are citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA area and require a study visa. All applications must be complete with applicable standard test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, etc.).

 August 30, 2019 (23:59, Central European Time)

Application deadline for self-financing applicants from EU/EEA countries. All applications must be complete with applicable standard test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, etc.). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (subject to spaces available).
